Durban’s Informally Run Transport Network Mapped

Informally Run Transport Data for Gaborone and East London Live on the WhereIsMyTransport Platform

We are thrilled to announce that the WhereIsMyTransport platform now contains formal and informally run public transport data for Gaborone, Botswana, and East London, South Africa. These cities join Cape Town, whose entire minibus taxi network data was launched in February, integrated with formal networks and openly available for anyone to use. Our platform now supports 20 cities across Africa and the Middle East.

#AccessCPT Hackathon hosted by WhereIsMyTransport and Partners

The WhereIsMyTransport platform served as the foundation of numerous public transport projects during the Access Cape Town hackathon – hosted over March 3-5 by WhereIsMyTransport, Bandwidth Barn, KATO, Women in Tech Cape Town and sponsored by the City of Cape Town’s Transport and Urban Development Authority and Microsoft. As part of the Global Public Transport Hackathon Series, one member of grand prize winners FindMyTaxi will represent their idea at the Youth 4 Public Transport global hackathon in Montreal this May.
