WhereIsMyTransport CEO Devin de Vries took to the main stage at Data Natives—Europe’s biggest Data Science and AI conference—to discuss our groundbreaking work producing and maintaining mobility and location data in emerging markets.

He shared:

• Only 4% of the fifty largest emerging-market cities have complete public transport network data.
• There are over 1 billion under-24s in emerging markets. 1.5 times that of developed markets, and growing.
• More than 70% of phones are data enabled in emerging markets.

We also discussed our priorities for automation, AI and real-time data, including replacing manual tasks, predictive models to anticipate needs, and community-contributed data, as seen in our public transport app Rumbo.
